If your height is 5'4" (162 cm) or shorter, you’ve probably noticed that finding leggings that fit well can be tricky. Standard leggings often feel too long, bunch at the ankles, or just don’t sit right.
The main challenge is usually the inseam and overall proportions. Petite frames need leggings that are slightly shorter and cut in a way that matches your body shape, so the waistband, hips, and ankle all sit comfortably. Choosing the right length and fit can make a big difference in both comfort and how the leggings look on you.
Why 7/8 Leggings Often Work Well for Petite Women
If you’re on the petite side and have trouble finding leggings that actually fit, here’s a simple tip:look for a slightly shorter 7/8 length. Most standard leggings have an inseam of around 26–28 inches, which can be too long for many petite women—causing fabric to bunch at the ankles and affecting the overall silhouette. Even if it’s not a Fanka pair, a 7/8 length often works like full-length leggings on shorter frames, sitting neatly at the ankle without extra fabric bunching.
We’ve received a lot of feedback asking why we don’t offer a petite size. While we don’t currently have a petite-specific line, our 7/8 length leggings have been designed with petite wearers in mind. For example, our Body Sculpt 7/8 Leggings 2.0 have an updated knee support design with a larger support ring, so the knee area aligns comfortably even on shorter legs.
Height guideline (in inches):
- If you’re 5’1”–5’3” (61–63 inches), our 7/8 length leggings hit like full-length—internal testing shows that for anyone under 5’3” (63 inches), the 7/8 sits neatly at the ankle with no extra fabric bunching.
- If you’re 5’3”–5’5” (63–65 inches), our full-length leggings generally fit well, but if you want to ensure the perfect length and avoid stacking at the ankles, the 7/8 length is a great alternative.
Trying a 7/8 length is a simple way to get a better fit, smoother silhouette, and comfortable compression—even if a brand doesn’t offer a dedicated petite size yet.
Best Length For Petites

Choosing the Right Fanka Leggings if You’re Petite
- If you’re petite, your best bets are:
- 7/8 leggings, which often fit like full-length on shorter frames
- Styles designed with supportive compression and flexible structure
Both options help avoid excess fabric at the ankle, keep proportions balanced, and give you a comfortable, flattering fit.

I’m only 4ft 11in So do you have a size for me. I weigh 130
i think people underestimate how much “length proportion” affects confidence.
when leggings fit right it just looks… more put together. not sure how to explain.
havent bought yet but i like the explanation.
still a bit skeptical though, “petite fit” sometimes feels like marketing for just shorter leggings.
i read this guide and it actually made me realize sizing matters more than i thought. i used to just buy S and hope for the best lol.
7/8 does look more balanced on my frame.
why you don’t show larger women in the leggings in each size as you show the size 7/8 along with the reviews? this is why im skeptical?
