Compression isn’t about choosing the highest number — it’s about support that fits your body, lifestyle, and daily needs.
Through real-world feedback, we’ve found that most customers prefer 18–22 mmHg, our core compression range. This level provides the right support, all-day comfort, and freedom of movement, making it ideal for shaping, slimming, and recovery, as well as travel and long workdays.
This guide will help you understand typical compression ranges and choose what fits your condition or goal, even if that means exploring products outside our core range.
Note: This guide is for general educational purposes only. Fanka does not provide medical-grade compression. Medical compression requires professional guidance.
Understanding Compression (mmHg)
Compression is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and usually shown as a range rather than a single number.
It’s also important to know that:
1. Compression feel varies by fabric, construction, and fit
2. Two leggings with the same mmHg rating may feel very different
3. More compression does not automatically mean better results
The goal of compression isn’t restriction — it’s support.
Our Compression Journey at Fanka
Fanka didn’t always focus on a single compression range. Early on, we developed light, medium, and high compression leggings to see what worked best for everyday wear.
As customers wore our leggings through long workdays, travel, and daily activity, a clear pattern emerged: high compression products in the 18–23 mmHg range consistently became favorites. Styles like Body Sculpt and PowerBand stood out not because they were the strongest, but because they offered the right amount of support.
Customers told us these leggings:
  • Made them feel instantly more confident
  • Provided strong, functional support — giving immediate shaping
  • Were comfortable and allowed full freedom of movement
Over time, this feedback became impossible to ignore. Today, most Fanka products focus on 18–23 mmHg, the range our customers love for wearability, effectiveness, and comfort.

Which Compression Level Should You Choose
If you want the highest compression leggings for daily wear, shaping, or extra support, we recommend our Ultra Compression range (23+ mmHg).
These are strong, everyday compression leggings, but they are not medical-grade and not intended to treat specific medical conditions.
For daily wear, shaping, travel, or weight management, our 18–23 mmHg range provides the best balance of support, comfort, and style — our most popular choice for everyday leggings.
If you have specific medical concerns, consult a healthcare professional and consider products designed for medical-grade compression.

Why We Focus on Everyday Compression — Not Medical-Grade
At this stage, Fanka does not design products for medical or clinical use. Not because medical compression isn’t important — but because creating products for medical audiences requires a different level of specialization, clinical testing, and professional oversight.
It’s also important to know that:Our vision is to create leggings that:
  • Look good enough to wear daily
  • Feel confident and comfortable for long hours
  • And still provide meaningful functional support
Balancing aesthetics, comfort, and performance is already complex. Adding medical requirements would mean building a fundamentally different product — and that is not our focus or strength today.
That said, this is not permanent. It’s a challenging goal for us at the moment, but if you have strong interest or specific needs, please leave feedback. We’re listening, and as demand grows and our capabilities evolve, we will continue exploring ways to expand compression options in the future.

I am very interested in medical grade compression. I can’t seem to find anything but stockings or pantyhose with medical compression. Would be nice to have leggings as an option.
