I Wear Shapewear to Work—This Is the Pair I Don't Rush to Take Off
Eight hours later, I was still wearing them. A real-day test of the Fanka Body Sculpt Airsmooth Shaper Shorts.
I work in an office where I usually wear tailored trousers, fitted dresses, or pencil skirts. I like looking polished, especially on meeting days, but shapewear has always been difficult.
Most styles smooth my clothes at first, then become uncomfortable after a few hours. The waistband rolls when I sit, the fabric feels hot during my commute, and the pressure becomes distracting before lunch.
That was why I started looking for shapewear designed for longer wear, not just special occasions.
I found the Fanka Body Sculpt Airsmooth Shaper Shorts while searching for breathable shapewear to wear under work dresses. What interested me was the zoned compression. Instead of squeezing the whole body equally, it supports specific areas while leaving others more comfortable.
I tested them on a normal workday.

My commute includes walking, a crowded train, and another ten-minute walk to the office. Heavy shapewear can feel unpleasant before I even reach my desk.
The Airsmooth shorts felt much thinner than the pairs I had worn before. Under a lightweight midi dress, they did not add bulk or create a stiff outline.
More importantly, I did not arrive at work feeling overheated. They felt more like a smooth base layer than a heavy compression garment.
The Real Test Was Sitting Down
Shapewear can feel fine while standing in front of a mirror. Sitting at a desk for several hours is different.
The ultra-high waist reaches just below the bust. I thought it might feel excessive, but the extra height helped stop the waistband from folding into my stomach.
During meetings, it stayed in place instead of rolling down. The waist and lower abdomen felt supported, while the rest of the shorts had enough flexibility for sitting, walking, and eating lunch comfortably.
I still knew I was wearing shapewear, but I was not constantly thinking about taking it off.
What It Did Under My Clothes
Under tailored trousers, the shorts helped smooth my waist, hips, and upper thighs. My trousers fell more cleanly and did not catch as much around uneven areas.
Under a fitted dress, the effect was subtle. My abdomen looked smoother, my core felt supported, and the shaping around the glutes did not flatten my natural shape.
Fanka calls this a 3D zoned sculpting system. Different areas provide targeted support to smooth the waist and abdomen, stabilize the core, lift the glutes, and refine the thighs.
In practice, it simply felt less like being squeezed into one tight tube.
"The biggest difference is not how they look when I first put them on. It is that, eight hours later, I am usually still wearing them."

I Was Still Wearing Them After Work
The day I tested them, I had dinner plans after work. Normally, I would bring something to change into after spending all day in shapewear.
This time, I forgot.
After commuting, sitting through meetings, walking to lunch, and going to dinner, the waistband had not rolled down and the shorts had not become unbearably warm.
I kept them on until I got home.
They are still shaping shorts, so anyone who dislikes compression may prefer regular slip shorts. I would also recommend choosing the correct size instead of sizing down for a stronger effect.
But compared with the shapewear I used to save for weddings and short events, these felt much more practical.
Would I Wear Them Every Day?
Not with every outfit.
But when I am wearing fitted work clothes, meeting clients, or going directly from the office to dinner, I reach for the Fanka Body Sculpt Airsmooth Shaper Shorts.
They smooth without dramatically changing my shape, stay in place when I sit, and feel breathable enough for a full workday.
The biggest difference is not how they look when I first put them on.
It is that, eight hours later, I am usually still wearing them.
